About the Workshop

This workshop is designed to help participants gain a new understanding of twin relationships as well as parenting twins. It will be a safe and welcoming space to talk about:

- Relationship difficulties with your twin (identical or fraternal);
- The many challenges of life as a twin in a non-twin world;
- How to develop a parenting style that nurtures a healthy relationship between your twins;
- How to understand the unique dynamics of your significant other who is a twin.

You will be encouraged to ask the speaker questions and to engage during breakout sessions.

Location

The workshop will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Campbell, in the heart of Silicon Valley. The hotel is set in the prestigious Pruneyard Plaza in Campbell, California.

A twin herself, Barbara Klein is a leading authority on twin relationships, twin estrangement, and parenting twins. She has written several books on twins and has worked with thousands of twins in her psychotherapeutic practice in Los Angeles.

Jacqueline (Jackie) Martinez is a twin. She is an associate professor of communication at Arizona State University, where she teaches courses related to culture and communication. She and her twin have struggled in adulthood to find peace and understanding in their relationship. As a result, she has dedicated significant attention over the past decade to the study of twin relationships. Jackie is currently working with Stephen Hart and Barbara Klein on a book about the experience of being in twin relationships.

Stephen is an identical twin living in the United Kingdom and whose twin-brother has lived in the USA for the last 30 years. He has authored over a dozen books and articles. He has also spent a year working for the NATO Mission in Kabul, Afghanistan, as The Senior Academic Mentor. He lives south of London, is divorced and has three typically-teenaged children. With a life-long research interest in psychology, Stephen has in recent years researched the lives of twins from North America and Western Europe. For the last three years he has also worked in collaboration with Dr Barbara Klein.
